Inverter replacements

Inverter replacements are relatively straightforward to accomplish - generally it will take about half a day to remove the old inverter and put the new one up, then ensure it is commissioned correctly.

Cheaper inverters tend to start failing at any point after year 5 - so it may be worthwhile considering upgrading to a better standard when this happens.

We work almost exclusively with SMA and SolarEdge, as we feel they offer the best reliability and monitoring options - if you're reading this page then it's likely you can see the value in this!

SMA

Are one of the oldest inverter brands and are generally conisdered one of the best inverters on the market - few others can claim to have been in the market for so long. Their range of added benefits includes:

  • Back-up storage with or without smart energy management

  • Excellent monitoring options

  • Email alerts as standard on the newest models

  • Wireless communication on the newest models

  • Module level monitoring if their optimiser units are used

SolarEdge

SolarEdge have quickly become an installer and user favourite due to their optimiser and detailed monitoring. The optimisers mean you can ensure top performance from each panel even if there is significant shading across the array, without affecting the other panels.
